Some really unpleasant staff
Very basic, the kitchen was poorly equipped and everything that was ever good in the hostel was at some point taken away from us. Even simple luxuries such as chairs on the balcony area were taken away with no substitutes given. Staff were always accusing us and treating us like scum for no reason. If we asked for help it was rarely given and they acted as if we should be grateful for simply being there. On the plus side, I met lovely fellow backpackers there and we were like one big family! One of the staff members was really nice and friendly to us. I was lucky and got consistent work because the manager seemed to like me. Transport was provided. Up to 3 days it was included in the rent. 4 days work was an additional $15, 5 days $30, 6 days $45, 7 days $60 . I was lucky and had a four-bed dorm which was mostly female during my stay. There were a few couples rooms (2-person), some 4-beds, 6-beds and the biggest was a 10/12-bed dorm. Every dorm was the same price. Walking distance to Woolworths, Subway, MacDonalds, Dominoes, Bunnings, Overflow. There were also some local shops, cafes etc as well as a centre link office, chemists and doctors. Wifi was average, it would depend on the amount of people using it and your location within the hostel. Phone signal was usually good but also depended on your mobile provider. Wifi was included. In free time: walks, bike riding, shopping (limited shops), swimming pool, tennis courts, library. THe hostel provide table tennis, basketball hoop, TV, some books and games. There was a gym but it got taken away. Occasionally we could borrow a bus but often there were restrictions and usually the manager said no to letting us borrow it.
