Avoid!

1/ 5

Avoid! They attract on the promise of non-existent work, and lie about prospective wages.

Jennings Strawberry Farm and Glenburn Orchard have an arrangement with them.

Also according to reports, certain locals enter rooms with Japanese/Taiwanese and presumably Korean girls in them.

Best hostel we stayed in.

5/ 5

The 2 reviews previously posted on this website are very misleading, especially the 2nd review. There are 3 separate hostel buildings, 2 older ones all twin rooms with their own kitchens and facilities, they are cozy and friendly and its really nice to just have to share with one other person and they are single sex. The new hostel is really great, very big and open plan and awesome views from the deck. The rooms in here are lovely and the bathrooms very modern. and yes there is a pool table and yes there is a $2 charge, just like in the pubs, other hostels, which is fair enough. There’s a games room with free table tennis, darts and table soccer and a free BBQ/ pizza oven recreation area, which is a great place to relax and enjoy time with friends. The work is with many local farmers in the area and the hostel help you find work and help with contacts. We were told in advance what to expect and the payments and wages, all of which was correct not false as previously stated. We enjoyed our stay here and found Jayne to be real nice and very helpful and fair, she will always try to find work if needed. This is one of the best hostels I have stayed in, I felt safe and secure and I’m very happy to recommend anyone to stay at Huon Valley Backpackers in Tasmania.

False job promises. You will loose money and time going there. But you’ll meet nice backpacker at least!
