Mildura is located in the north west of Victoria, on the border with New South Wales and close to South Australia. Situated on the Murray River, Mildura and its surrounding area offers big skies, breathtaking natural beauty and a warm Mediterranean climate.

Extensive local produce such as grapes, wine, citrus and vegetables are not only produced in abundance for the domestic and international markets, but are extensively used by the renowned award winning restaurants and cafes to provide you with quality dining experiences.

When you Visit Mildura the outback and the river, coupled with the pleasant climate, offer many opportunities for outdoor activities.

One activity not to be missed is to visit 40,000 years of history at the World Heritage Listed Mungo National Park.

Whether your interest lies in visiting the outback, experiencing the region’s rich history or taking in the many local, national and international festivals and sporting events that dot the yearly calendar, Mildura really does have it all.

Stopover Guesthouse is conveniently located close to the Mildura city centre in Lemon Avenue between Seventh and Eighth Street and just  3 blocks from Deakin Avenue.

Langtree Avenue and its selection of award winning restaurants is only a short walk away as are Mildura’s shops, banks, cafes, supermarkets and entertainment venues.

We are a short distance from the V-Line bus terminal and a 10 minute walk brings you to the library, Visitor Information Centre and swimming pool.

Cross Seventh Street and you can enjoy pleasant walks along the river, fish or spend a couple of hours on a relaxing paddle steamer ride.

Seasonal Work

Whilst Mildura Stopover Guesthouse is not a ‘working hostel’, as part of the Working Hostels Mildura group, www.workinghostels.com.au, we do have access to farm jobs throughout the year.

The Mildura region provides a wide range of seasonal work opportunities. We do not guarantee work but we may be able to help you find a job if you come to the area without anything organised yourself.

Remember the quantity and quality of work will be affected by when you are here, how many other people are here and a variety of economic and seasonal factors beyond our control.
